#JuniorRangers Take Over Finals Day.....
This weekend sees our U11's and U12's line up in their Cup Finals. 2 teams making it all the way is a great testament to the talent of both the players and coaches at the clubs disposal.
Chris Burdock and Will Saunders take the U11's to Bretforton to take on a strong A League Eckington Juniors side. The A-League status shouldn't face the Rangers, however, as all of their cup victoris have come against sides in the leagues above them. The run started with a resounding 10-0 victory over Inkberrow Eagles. Droitwich Spa Kestrels were the youngsters next victims. This time thumping them 4-0. Ilmington United provided a challengin semi final, in which Kian Burrows and Toby Stevens ensured a final place with a 3-1 victory. Both of the aforementioned have been regular scorers throughout the season. Kian's cup tally alone is 6 and Toby Stevens has also hit 5 in 3 games. Dom Evans, Louis Mutsaars and James Campbell have all chipped in along this impressive road to the final. The Game kicks off tomorrow at 12:30 and we will all be hoping to bring a trophy back to Moreton.
The second final of the afternoon kicks off at 3:30pm. The U12's, lead by Mark Boydell and Harry Peters, take on Welland Junior Lions in what promises to be a high scoring encounter. The Lions are flying high at the top of League C, whilst the Rangers sit 2nd in Legue B, both with impressive records this season.
The long road to the final started with a 5-0 victory away at Crowle Searchers, they then snuck past Eckington Juniors in a 2-1 victory, again, away from home. The quater finals saw goals from Jordi Colome and Henry Smythe in a 3-0 victory Vs Tewkesbury Town Colts. The biggest test, and probably best performance, came against Welford Juniors Pumas in the semi-final. A nervy 0-0 was eventually won on penalties by the steely Rangers. Having to score all 5 penalties to see them through to this weekends final.
A tough task ahead of both teams, but in all a great celebration of the clubs strength in depth at Junior level.
