Coaches Jack Wise and Ben Burdock with Moreton Rangers new Under 7 Team

The principle aim of Moreton Rangers Football Club is to provide the opportunity for footballers young and old to play the game, improve their skills, keep fit and have fun.

We are pleased to focus on our new members aged 7 and 6 years old along with their new coaches who having passed through our junior teams are now putting something back by coaching these young players.

Having started training in September the Under 7 year old player numbers have grown and the enthusiastic group were coached regularly by teenagers Jack Wise and Ben Burdock under the guidance of level one coach Darren Honour. It was soon evident that they needed a challenge so a friendly game was arranged with local neighbours Bourton Rovers. As the pictures show a crowd of over forty supporters were entertained by both teams doing their best and enjoying the game. Honours were even with both teams winning a game.

Moreton Rangers Under 7(in white) play Bouton Rovers in a Friendly game

First Team go top of the table

Moreton Rangers first team moved to the top of the Hellenic League Division 2 West after some tough games on the road which saw no game at London Road last month. The away games started with a 4-1 win at last year’s table toppers Oxford Nomads. This was followed up with a County Cup win at Lydbrook 6-1 and a League cup win at Brinscombe and Thrupp 5-3. This cup win found Moreton drawn away at Thatcham Town who happen to be top of the Premier League.

A midweek game at Hook Norton led to a 2-1 reverse but wins at Shrivenham 5 – 1 and Faringdon Town 3-1 put them top of the table.

Games in December at London Road starts with a local derby with Bourton Rovers.

Women’s Coaching

Our women’s coaching continues every Thursday evenings 6.30pm to 7.30pm. This is open to anyone of any standard to join us for some football, fun and fitness.
