Rangers go clear in League

Moreton Rangers first team sit top of the Uhlsport Hellenic Div 2 West after a run of winning league results over the past two months. The run started with a win in the derby game at home to Bourton Rovers at the start of December. In a hard fought contest the telling moment came early in the second half when Lee Brooks headed home from a corner to seal a 1-0 win. The run then continued with a 4-0 win over Oxford City Nomads and then a 2-1 win away at Abingdon United. In the New Year home victories over Shrivenham 5-1 and then Easington Sports were well beaten 7-0.

Moreton Rangers under 9 team have had a great season so far with a record of 13 wins and only one loss so far. They are also benefiting from their coach Dave Toon having completed his level 2 F.A.Coaching qualifications which involved many hours of his own time. He hopes this will help the team further with the message from the F.A being that young players need to learn and play in a positive and enjoyable environment.
