Harry Peters the head coach for Moreton Rangers Under 10 Team is very pleased with the development of the squad this season. With a record since he took charge of the team of 33 games played,66 goals scored, 16 wins, 6 draws and 9 losses the team is playing some attractive football.
“It is great to coach this team and I am grateful to Connor Moore and Will Dubery who help me with training and refereeing games, the support we get from parents and supporters is also great” said Harry.” We work hard on playing football the right way by passing and moving the ball and we are lucky to have such a good pitch at Moreton Cricket Club to play on” he added.
The team kit is sponsored by The Chester House Hotel and the club thanks them for their support.
Moreton Rangers first team have had a contrasting month on the Football Field.
A disappointing 1-0 home defeat by Highworth Town was followed with a long away trip for a weekend team to Aston Clinton in the Cup where an extra time defeat 4-1 ended the interest in the League Cup.
A thumping home win over Clanfield 12-2 was followed up by a trip to Brinscombe and Thrupp in Stroud where they conceded a late penalty to end the game with a 3-3 draw.
The comfortable lead Rangers held at the top of the table disappeared when Clanfield withdrew from the league so results against them we expunged. Suddenly Kidlington Reserves leapt to the top of the table on goal difference. To add to the team’s frustration Hook Norton were unable to field a side for a recent game.
This sets up some top of the table clashes in April with a trip to Kidlington on April 1st and then the reverse fixture on Easter Monday.
