Under 14 Team on the Up

Moreton Rangers U14’s have enjoyed a superb season so far. Playing in the Evesham Ambassador League they currently sit mid table having played 11, won 5, drawn 3 and lost 3. Training every Wednesday evening between 5.30pm and 7pm at Moreton Rangers Football Ground on London Road, coaches Edward Churchill and Chris Spilby are keen to see new players join the team commenting;
“Everyone is welcome to come and join us. We aim to have an extremely friendly and welcoming atmosphere, we put the emphasis on team building and core strengths as well as working on skills. We are a fun bunch and there is never a dull moment at any training session.”
If the team have no game at the weekend the team will still try to meet for training and keeping active. This commitment has paid off as the squad has become fitter and the stamina of the team has shone through.
“What we feel is different about our team is the bond they have; playing and training as friends not just as a group of players on the pitch. Regardless of result they always have their heads held high and have great vision on how to improve next time. This ambition is extremely admirable in a youth team at this age – we would welcome any enthusiastic 12-14year olds to come and join us!” Contact Edward on 07983 306881 for more information.
Cup run ends for First Team.
Moreton Rangers First Team were knocked out of two cup competitions during March as the weather again disrupted fixtures. A trip to Cam Bulldogs at Dursley in the county cup was postponed a week and then played on a very wet pitch. Unfortunately Rangers lost their goalkeeper early on and eventually lost 4-0. The following week they played Easington Sports first team form the premier division in the Hellenic League Cup and were beaten 1-0 in a very tight contest. The league form remains solid with draws with Bouton Rovers 1-1 and Shrivenham 2-2.
Reserves maintain good form.
With three wins in a row the reserve team have kept up their good form. A 1-0 win away at Spartan Rangers was followed up with a 4-1 home win over Aston Reserves. A trip to Brize Norton resulted with them winning 2-0 which was a fine result for this young team.
