Junior Teams

With the Football season drawing to a close Moreton Rangers Junior teams are looking forward to holding their end of season awards. Once again it was a season of mixed fortunes with the notable success being the Under 11 Team looking forward to a cup final on the 12th May. They played 7 games in the group stages wining 5, losing 2 scoring 21 goals and finishing 2nd. This meant they qualified for the cup Last eight. A Quarter final against Banbury Utd was won 6–2 which meant a Semi-final against Bicester town which was a very tough game. It was 1-1 until the last minute where they managed to score to pinch it 2-1. Coach Dave Toon said “I am Very pleased that the hard work by all the players has paid off and we go to the cup final. We are confident of doing our best whatever the outcome.”

The Under 15 team had a respectable 4th place finish in their league winning 9 of their 16 games. The Under 14 team struggled in a higher league having been promoted last year but showed Great Spirit throughout the season. The Under 12 Team were played well in the first part of the season so qualified for a strong league where they did well to finish 5th in the table. The Under 10 Team had a great season qualifying for the end of season Champions Cup where they just missed out on the finals finishing 5th, The Under 8 Team continued to develop with a notable success in a tournament at Carterton where they won all 5 of their games without conceding a goal.

A huge thank you to our volunteer coaches. They devote so much time and effort to make all this happen.

The club now have an opportunity to move up to the First Division of the Hellenic League but this is reliant on our ground meeting F.A.Step 6 requirements. The volunteers have worked hard to raise funds with over £10,000 already found towards upgrading the floodlights but we still need help to install a 50 seat stand. The club is making huge strides to provide a vibrant and successful sports team that Moreton can be proud of. We need your help to take the next step.
